We are looking at hiring people in the general areas of surface science, nanophotonics, optical fibre fabrication, plasmonics or advanced materials. Applicants for self-funded scholarships (e.g. from China Scholarship Council) are also welcome.

Early-career PhD holders can apply for funding to work in the group through

EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowships (3 years)

The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Fellowships (2 years, for applicants normally with no more than 3 years postdoctoral experience.)

Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship (3 years)

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (2 years, for applicants moving from outside the UK.)

Royal Academy of Engineering (5 years for applicanats within 4 years of completing PhD degree.)
